[NEWS] Korean Action Horror Comes to UK Digital Home Viewing

With Jae-Hoon Choi's action thriller 'The Killer' coming to the UK on a wave of glowing praise, South Korean cinema looks set to rock the UK home audience this year. The latest release from the nation that gave us 'The Host' and 'Train to Busan' promises a film that is 'Pure splatter-house' according to the Guardian. Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment presents the gut wrenching action-horror 'Project Wolf Hunting' will be coming to UK home audiences on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital on 10th April 2023.

During an extradition from the Philippines to South Korea, a group of dangerous criminals housed on a 58,000 ton cargo ship stage a coordinated escape attempt from their floating prison. 

The jailbreak escalates into a bloody, all-out riot, with the fugitives and their allies outside exacting a brutal terror campaign against the special agents onboard. But the prisoners aren’t the only ones waiting to rise from the darkness - the freighter may be harbouring an even more sinister enemy. 

Writer/director Hongsun Kim cements his reputation for gripping with a CV that includes his debut feature 'Traffickers', 'The Chase' and 'Metamorphosis'. Leading the cast line up is singer songwriter Seo in-Guk, known mainly for his television work mainly in comedies and dramas before breaking out into action comedy with 2021's 'Pipeline'. Accompanying Seo on this gruesome voyage are Dong-Yoon Jang, Jung So-Min, Gwi-hwa Choi, and Dong-il Sung.

The film has certainly raised eyebrows from critics and viewers with its no holds barred pace and feel. Total Film praised the film as a "Frenetic action horror... thrilling, anything-goes energy". Following its world debut at TIFF Midnight Madness in 2022, it has quickly become a firm global festival favourite, having also been selected for Sitges International Film Festival this October in Catalonia, Leeds International Film Festival and San Sebastian Horror & Fantasy Film Festival in Spain later this year.
