The film will be released in selected UK cinemas from 7th April, a very special day as it will be Jackie's 69th Birthday. What better way to celebrate than watch the man himself still holding his own in the brand of action that cemented his legacy as one of the genre's greatest superstars.
Jackie plays Luo, an ageing stuntman whose death defying high flying days are long behind him. He can barely make ends meet let alone take care of his beloved stunt horse, Red Hare. When he's told that his horse is to be auctioned off to cover his debts he reluctantly turns to his estranged daughter and her lawyer boyfriend for help. Unexpectedly, Luo and Red Hare become an overnight media sensation when their real-life fight with debt collectors goes viral. As his fame grows and Luo is given a once in a life time opportunity but will he choose his family over his reviving career?
'Ride On' is written and directed by rising filmmaker Larry Yang whose 2015 drama 'Mountain Cry' won Best Commercial Potential at the 4th Beijing International Film Festival's pitch and catch contest. Larry (real name Zi Yang) is better known for his family dramas, romantic comedies as well as the documentary 'My Other Home', he story of Stephon Marbury's fall from the NBA and journeying to rediscover his passion in China. This will be Larry's first foray into the action genre. The film also co-stars Liu Haocun who featured in Zhang Yimou's 'Cliff Walkers' and Kevin Guo who also appeared in Larry's 2019 heartwarming comedy 'Adoring'.
Trinity Cine Asia are bringing Jackie Chan's latest adventure to UK cinemas on his birthday. 'Ride On' is a fast, funny and uplifting family tale, with stunning fight choreography paying homage to the action legend's body of work. He may be playing an over the hill stuntman but as we can see in the trailer Jackie Chan still delivers the fun and thrills for which he is known. The premier screening has already sold out but fear now as Jackie will be riding into the following Odeon Cinemas: Birmingham New Street, Bristol, Edinburgh Lothian Road, Exeter, Haymarket, Liverpool One, Manchester Great Northern and Sheffield. Tickets are going fast so make sure you don't miss out!
