Latest In Search of Darkness Epic Enters New Era of Horror

Just when you thought the search was over, Creator VC, the masters of community empowered film enter a new era of the horror genre. Writer and Director David Weiner will be setting off on a journey to explore the lost decade of horror with 'In Search of Darkness: 1990-1994' and as always he's taking you, the fans, with him. David and the team at Creator VC have launched for pre-sale this latest epic long form documentary packed full of insights and interviews with horror icons, and will feature a year long campaign to offer fans opportunities to shape the finished film. 

The 1990s saw yet another cultural shift happening; a rejecting of 80s excess replaced with a more gritty sense of realism. Gone was “big hair metal”, and replaced by Seattle Grunge. The world became smaller with the advent of the internet, and even more dangerous with serial killers and riots dominating news headlines. The horror genre has always mirrored society in many ways and the 90s was no exception.  The rejection of the 80s is echoed in the closing doors of some of that era's beloved franchises ('Nightmare on Elm Street' 'Friday the 13th'). Serial killers were no longer mindless slashers but erudite and intelligent ('Silence of the Lambs') quiet and unassuming yet charming ('Single White Female'), and Gothic legends became tortured, misunderstood souls ('Bram Stoker's Dracula' and 'Mary Shelley's Frankenstein'). With 'In Search of Darkness: 1990-1994' writer and director David Weiner examines the early years of this transformative era of horror;
